MASTER OF SCIENCE IN APPLIED EXERCISE SCIENCE @ CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO

Human Movement Science

This concentration provides students with the knowledge to develop injury prevention programs and teach students how to help athletes improve functional capacity and correct faulty movement patterns.

CERTIFICATION: NASM-CES

Graduates may sit for the National Academy of Sports Medicine’s (NASM) Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) credential.

Sports Nutrition

Designed for individuals who aspire to provide sound sports nutrition information to athletes and individuals. The BLS estimates a rosy job outlook for dietitians and nutritionists, increasing by 20%.

CERTIFICATION: CISSN

Graduates may sit for the Certified Sports Nutrition (CISSN) exam from the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN).

Sports Performance Training

Designed for coaches, athletic trainers and other sports professionals who work with all levels of athletes from high school players up through Olympic competitors.

CERTIFICATION: NASM-PES

Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). According to NASM, “top teams in the NFL and NBA have now begun requiring the NASM–PES credential.”

Strength and Conditioning

Designed for current practitioners, aspiring strength and conditioning coaches and athletic performance coaches.

CERTIFICATIONS: NSCA-CPT, NSCA CSCS

Recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Education Recognition Program (ERP), our program prepare students for the NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT®) and NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certifications.

Over the last 30 years the rates of obesity and chronic disease have been rising rapidly in both adults and children. An undergraduate program in kinesiology will prepare students to help to curb the national obesity epidemic, improve human movement function, and meet the needs of aging individuals.

EXERCISE AND MOVEMENT SCIENCE @ ST. FRANCIS COLLEGE BROOKLYN

Provide students with a well-rounded curriculum covering kinesiology, sports psychology, biomechanics, and the physiology of exercise.
